Recipes I like
For Valentine’s Day I have chosen a wonderful cream from my list of Recipes I like: Crema Catalana. Actually, today’s dessert has already been chosen when I read the recipe on Manu’s Menu weeks before. I halved the quantity and used ground cinnamon instead of cinnamon bark and lemon juice instead of zest. And unfortunately, we don’t have a balloon whisk yet, so I whisked the mixture with our little wooden spoon. It was hard work but worth it.
From our kitchen
To bring more variety into our dinners we have prepared körözött, which is a very popular sandwich spread among Hungarians.
Our first blender
Yesterday we have bought our first stand blender. And today we tested it with a simple banana milkshake recipe.
The first no-bake recipe on my blog
An ancient recipe from my mother.
A brief entry from the new kitchen
Luckily I have found a new apartment since my latest post. Here the conditions are perfect for writing my thesis and it is not too far from my workplace. This time I introduce one of my most rapid lunch.
For the guests
In this summer heat I’m welcoming the guests with apricot muffins. As I wrote in my Sour cherry muffin recipe, my silicon baking mold is slightly smaller than the orginal baking mold. So I have 24 small muffins in my baking mold, but this quantity makes 16 normal sized muffins. Today I flavored the muffins with apricot instead of sour cherry and this time I didn’t use cocoa powder.
After the exams
Today I have prepared a delicacy that is suitable for a pleasant afternoon and seasoned with thunder and summer downpour. As the sour cherry tree bends under the weight of the fruit, I flavored the simple chocolate muffin with sour cherries instead of chocolate. I modified the doses a bit because my silicon baking mold is slightly smaller than the orginal baking mold. According to the recipe described below I have prepared 24 small muffins, this quantity makes 16 normal sized muffins.
